Fighting Chance Productions Proudly Presents…
bare: a pop opera
book, music & lyrics by Jon Hartmere and Damon Intrabartolo
directed by Ryan Mooney

August 4-13, 2011
Fighting Chance Productions, responsible for the sell-out hits Sweeney Todd, Forbidden Broadway, Rent and The Musical of Musicals: The Musical is thrilled to bring the Western Canadian premiere of bare: a pop opera to Lower Mainland audiences! A group of high school seniors at a Catholic boarding school faces issues of sexuality and personal identity. As they struggle to come to terms with who they are, and who the world thinks they should be, they seek answers from their Church, their friends, and ultimately, from within themselves. Its rich, vibrant score draws on many styles of contemporary music.
bare: a pop opera marks the twenty first show since 2007 that this “little company that could” has brought to theatre-goers. The cast is comprised of nineteen of the Lower Mainland’sbest upcoming musical theatre performers including Lucas Blaney (The Wiz), Braedon Cox (The Will Rogers Follies), Lena Dabrusin (Cinderella), Emma Leigh Hillier, Matt Parsons (42nd Street), Jennifer Suratos (The Wiz, Rent), Nancy von Euw (The Sound of Music), Jeremy Fornier-Hanlon (Sweeney Todd), Stephanie Liatopolus (Annie), Arlie Worthing and a fantastic ensemble of new and old Fighting Chance faces. With music direction by Caitlin Hayes and direction by Ryan Mooney this show promises to be another triumph for Fighting Chance Productions.
