    Following the sold out run of last summer’s Rent, Fighting Chance Productions brings another iconic rock musical to life in a way that only they can – with a stellar cast of enthusiastic, talented and ambitious young performers. Fighting Chance Productions has persistently made a name for itself with productions of Rent, tick…tick… BOOM!, The Laramie Project and The Musical of Musicals: The Musical and Hair will be their 15th show produced in just over 3 years.
    Hair promises to be more than just another summer musical, with a talented cast of 24 current and graduated students from theatrical training institutes from across the province including Studio 58, Capilano University, Canadian College of Performing Arts and Vancouver Film School and a tight on-stage rock band this promises to be an epic event of an immortal piece of theatre. Hair is currently playing on both the New York and London stages prompting Time Magazine to declare, “Today Hair seems, if anything, more daring than ever.”

    HAIR will be directed and staged by Fighting Chance Artistic Director Ryan Mooney (who also helmed their production of Rent last summer) and Vashti Fairbairn will be the music director. Joining the production team is Brendan Albano (Set Design), Elizabeth Dubney (Costumes) and Cathy Wilmot will take the reigns as Production Manager.

    Joining the tribe will be familiar and new faces to Fighting Chance Productions including Michael Brock (The Wedding Singer), Sean Parsons (The Wedding Singer, Rent, Footloose) , Jenny Moase (The Wedding Singer, Threepenny Opera), Cesar Erba (Rent, High School Musical 2, The Wedding Singer), Hal Rogers (Rent), Arielle Tuliao, Amy Jean McElwain (My Life with Albertine), and Ranae Miller (My Life with Albertine, Footloose). Also featured in the tribe are Keri Smith, Max Friesen, David Lloyd, Justin Go, Daniel Chai, Eric Alexander Steel, Matt Russell, Richard Lam, Veronika Sztopa, Rebecca Clarkson, Robyn Leigh Johnson, Nyla Carpentier, Michelle Bardach, Sarah Wolfman-Robichaud, Nilsen Tiefenbach and Anna Hassard.

    Hair plays at the Waterfront Theatre (1412 Cartwright Street) from July 21st – August 1st, 2010. Wednesdays-Saturdays at 8pm, Tuesdays at 7:30pm, Saturdays at 2pm and Sundays at 1:30pm and 7:00pm. Tickets are $25 – $30 and are available at the door. $20 tickets are available for all matinees and the preview performance on Wednesday July 21st.
